Glazing
Capital Height Services work closely with local glazing companies to aid in glass repairs and window maintenance at height.
We have experience with many different types of glazing, from old wooden frames to brand new custom built framing units.
Broken glass poses a big risk to its surroundings, especially when up high. We apply various methods to quickly mitigate any risk of glass falling or causing hazards while we work.
GLASS TYPES
We have worked with many types of glass, from large double glazing on the Beehive to small individual panes on heritage buildings. If its toughened glass, single pane, mirrored or laminated glass we can help.
FRAME TYPES
No matter what type of glass is being installed or replaced, the main factor is the frame in which it sits. Capital Height Services have been glazing at height for so long that we’ve seen some very difficult and stubborn frames as well as some very clean and easy ones.
The key is knowing how to tackle each type and from working with some of the best glaziers in the city, we have the experience and knowledge to quickly and safely accomplish the desired results.
Over the years we have dealt with various different frame and sash types such as wooden sash, aluminium beads, and steel sash of varying sizes.
MAINTENANCE
If the windows and frames on your building are need of attention Capital Height Services can help.
Window Rubbers:
When the rubbers that hold the glass in the frame get old they can degrade and eventually slip out. This can be a major hazard resulting in glass coming loose and falling. We can replace window rubbers like for like, replacing old for new to ensure glass stays firmly in the frames.
Re-putty:
Again, over time the putty used to hold glass in the frame can degrade. This can lead to brittle putty cracking and coming loose which can cause the glass to be compromised. We can tend to this by ‘hacking’ out the old putty and replacing it with new putty.
Frame repairs:
Sometimes the glass is compromised by damage over time to the frame which in turn can cause damage to the glass and/or sash. Once the glass and sash’s are removed we can carry out frame repairs.
Such repairs include rust removal from steel frames and priming bare steel ready for new glass.
Replacing damaged, old or rotten wooden sections of a frame.
EMERGENCY GLAZING
Whatever the scenario from storm-related window damage to accidental breakage or cracking, Capital Height Services is available for emergency glass repairs. We work with trusted local glaziers and can organise everything from risk assessment, to boarding up damaged windows, to the final checks ensuring your building and surroundings are made safe as quickly as possible.
