Health & Safety

Health & Safety is our first priority at Capital Height Sevices

No matter what views or opinions circulate regarding Health & Safety in the workplace,
Capital Height Services will not compromise on our commitment to maintain the highest levels
of Health & Safety.
We believe our resolute policies and awareness can only benefit us all by providing our staff, our clients
and the public with reassurance, peace of mind and confidence.
In turn, this also enables us to enjoy our workplace, have pride in our accomplishments and go
home at the end of the day safe in the knowledge of a job well done.

Here’s how we do it:

Regular scheduled training and skills assessment

Our training programme is comprehensive and meets all legislative requirements for working at heights. Capital Height Services (CHS) staff complete regular scheduled training to enable them to continue work.

External training courses and refreshers

Additional to our internal training programme staff are expected to undertake specific working at heights and rope access training supplied by NZQA accredited training authorities. It is a base requirement for all CHS staff who work at heights to hold their working at heights qualifications 15757, and either their IRANZ, or IRATA tickets.

Continual supervision & Self auditing

CHS staff continually self audit and supervise their work colleagues. Prior to any height work being undertaken staff check each other’s equipment and safety setup. CHS staff are encouraged to cease work if they believe our strong safety culture has not been adhered to.

Strict disciplinary policy & zero tolerance to breaches in our health and safety

CHS take a zero tolerance to any breach in health and safety. We believe that all measures have been taken to create and continually improve our working safely at heights culture.
If any member of the CHS team chooses to breach health and safety protocols zero tolerance will be taken with all available
disciplinary measures being actioned.

Encouragement, education, open discussion

CHS promote open and honest communication amongst all members of the team, constructive criticism is welcome at all times. The forums we have for these discussions include daily morning toolbox meetings and post job debrief and discussion.
